Since summer 2015 we discuss the advantages of standardized interfaces and possibilities open hardware and software projects in the lift branch.
In February 2017 eight members founded the NeXt group e.V., an industrial consortium to promote comprehensive manufacturing collaboration for the development and networking of electronic devices and interfaces in the field of hoisting and conveying engineering.
Currently we are developing the legal framework for the first open projects and prepare our stand on the Interlift 2017 in Augsburg/Germany.

NeXt group - Let’s work together!
The independent lift industry needs a cooperation to be able to meet the challenges of digitization in the future. NeXt group is a worldwide development partnership of lift manufacturers, suppliers and other companies from the electronics and software industry.
Today, 13th February 2017 eight companies came together in Düsseldorf to found the NeXt group. After an intensive discussion about the structure, membership fees and the rules of the organization, the participants of the meeting voted unanimously to found the NeXt group, the rules of the Verein and the membership fees.
Then the board of NeXt group was voted. Chairman is Kjell Johansson (Hydroware, Sweden), director of the Business committee is Geert Maurissen (SafeLine Europe) and director of the Technical committee is Jörg Hellmich (ELFIN, Germany).
In the last month we worked out the ideas, the structure, the rules and the rules of contribution of the NeXt group.
On Monday 13th February 2017 the founding members will meet in Düsseldorf to found the new industrial consortium NeXt group. After the registration of the association we will invite everybody to become a member too.
On September 2nd six companies met in Dusseldorf to discuss details to found the NeXt group.
At the SafeLine partner seminar SafeLine announced the Thor project, an open hardware and software platform for lifts.
